“Il Cedro” is situated in Puglia, in Itria Valley, the valley of trulli, in the middle of a beautiful oak-tree wood, three kilometres away from Martina Franca, with it’s baroque old town, and at a distance of twenty km from Ostuni, the magical “white city”.
The beaches on the east coast (this area was awarded with Europe’s Blue Flag also for the year 2008) and those on the west coast can be easily reached by car in about twenty minutes. Rosa Marina, Torre Pozzelle up to Torre Guaceto’s Wildlife Reserve.
The structure is made up of five trulli and a lamia (an old house with thick stone walls, very cool during the summer, where you can find the bedrooms) and a big fireplace in the kitchen where the guests can have breakfast and pass their leisure time.
The house is surrounded by very tall pine trees, cedars and an orchard. There are three double rooms (two of which can accommodate three persons), a single room and two bathrooms that offer every sort of comfort (shower, hydro whirpool bath, and so on..). Furthermore, besides the trulli there is an independent studio apartment that can accommodate two or three people.
Trulli were the houses once used by the farmers for the storage of the harvest and food; from 1996, trulli, with their typical cone-shaped roofs, were recognized “world heritage” by UNESCO. Nowadays to, on the roofs you can still see whitewashed symbols that are believed to protect those who stay in these magical houses even for one day.
The garden that surrounds the house welcomes your pets. The structure also organizes guided tours to the nearby towns. |
